Raised on the comforting aromas of biryani, tangy pickles, and festive home-cooked meals, Prasanna Rao has always believed that food is far more than sustenance—it’s a cultural narrative. With roots in India and a heart in California, Prasanna founded The Saffron Edit to reimagine Indian cuisine for the modern table.

An engineer-turned-entrepreneur with a deep love for heritage recipes and bold flavors, Prasanna’s vision blends authenticity with creativity. From meticulously perfecting spice blends to curating event menus that surprise and delight, every element reflects her commitment to quality and storytelling.

Through Saffronia, she brings back the slow-cooked richness of Hyderabad-style dum biryanis. With Vulcan, she revives and elevates India’s iconic non-vegetarian pickles. And through The Saffron Edit, she invites you into a flavorful journey—curated with heart, hustle, and a pinch of saffron.
